AUSTIN -- Texas officials are working on a plan to respond to a potential collapse of the Mexican government and the specter of thousands fleeing north in fear for their lives after recent reports indicated the country could be on the verge of chaos.

"You hope for the best, plan for the worst," Katherine Cesinger, spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Perry, said last week. "At this point, we've got a contingency plan that's in development." ...

Remember, folks- as bad as our economy is, Mexico's is in far worse shape. This isn't
neccessarily Texan paranoia. Mexico is projected to be out of oil within 10-15 years or so.

Each one worse than the last, robbing the country, impoverishing the people, filling their pockets with money from the treasury, doing nothing at all for the country, robbing the lands of the indigenous, giving everything to the tiny wealthy minority, and so on.

109 million people live in Mexico, and when the government collapses, and civil order falls apart we will have millions of Mexicans fleeing north to get away from the chaos, anarchy, violence and civil war. Look at some of the refugee populations from failed states around the world, it's not unrealistic to expect 1/3 of the population to flee. The specter of 20-30 million Mexicans living in makeshift refugee camps along our border is horrifying. In a worse case scenario, the end result will be a second US invasion of Mexico, and a prolonged and very bloody war.
