Colbert One-Ups Glenn Beck...Literally

I couldn't believe my eyes--if you'll pardon the expression.

The 2/11 Colbert Report featured a clip from of Glen Beck talking while the screen next to him showed a closeup of his eyes, which Colbert went on to associate with opium dreams. Neat setup, I thought. Then there was clip of Beck explaining that HE'D asked his producers to show the closeup of his eyes because people don't look each other in the eyes enough. It was only then that I realized it HADN'T been a setup--Beck had been dead serious!

But of course, Colbert didn't stop there. A remark Glenn made about trusting your guts more inspired him to look into his own guts--on the air. He called upon a medical team and a screen, and the rest is more TV history. And you thought that things would get duller without George Bush to kick around!

4. Beck Is Eating All The Attention Up...

Seems like there's a pissing match brewing in hate radio/TV land. Whose really the "big Kahuna". Does Rushbo really speak for the wingnuts? Or are there others making their moves? The key is to be more obnoxious and outrageous...the "squeeky wheel gets the grease". This is especially the case as those petruid networks are hemoraging viewers and dollars. It's almost a cry for an intervention. :rofl:

Yep, Colbert also nailed Rushbo good last week. The mouth-frothing on the right wing is providing pure comedy gold as there's so much of it flowing right now. It's like a bunch of high school bullies who need to push people around. Their shtick used to work, but not in the age of Colbert, Stewart, Internet and a fully discredited repugnican party. Now it's pure parody.

Now how long can they keep it up? How outrageous and shrill can they get until they really "chicken little" themselves into obcurity??
