Lucky Cal State University at Fullerton - they may get to share the burden of 14 kids with Grandma
I appreciate that Universities have programs to help working mothers go back to school and get their education, but do you think it's fair to the volunteers at the daycare center at CSUF to have 14 kids dumped on them just so the Octomom Idiot can go back to school. Oh and she'll use student loans to support her children. Wait, I thought student loans were to help people to get an education.

Not sure why she is getting a masters in counseling, I think it would be wiser for her to spend that money on her own counseling.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090212/ap_on_re_us/octuplets;_ylt=AmDXO0.S9UXjC5x072CVIuUDW7oF

In the NBC interview, Suleman said she will go back to California State University, Fullerton in the fall to complete her master's degree in counseling, and will use student loans to support her children. She already owes $50,000 in student loans, she told NBC. She said she will rely on the school's daycare center and volunteers.

BTW, go ahead and flame me all you want. The smartest thing the State of California can do is to take those 8 kids out of her custody and find homes for them where these children can get the love & nuturing they need. And although I do not believe in forcing sterilization on anyone I'm starting to think there are exceptions out there.

1. She should have lived up her volunteers before getting pregnant.

She is being unreasonable in asking for this level of help. She could have/should have finished her Masters first before doing such an idiotic thing. Finishing a degree is full time work in and of itself. Her decision-making is far from being reasonable. It was selfish.

4. Unless it involves sterilization and turning those 14 kids over to Protective Services...
I highly doubt that. This is a woman who also had her face butchered to look like Angelina Joile.

14. It's like any 'famous' plastic surgery - all speculation but...

There are plenty of 'before & after' pictures where you can see major differences in this idiots nose, lips and cheekbones.

12. Hasn't she already?
My guess is that infertility Docs will have to answer for the increase in mega pregnancies that the rest of us pay for. Insurance companies bill the rest of us poor fools for this. Way to go mommy with 14 babies. Thanks.

5. Agree. Ms. Suleman has presented as an agile marketer and a not-so-agile
parent.

She was very possibly -- and maybe likely -- advised by her doctors not to undergo the procedure. She had been clinically diagnosed with clinical disorders, including Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

She is unemployed.

Her degree is months, maybe a couple years away.

IMO she has shown spectacularly selfish conduct and very poor judgment.

I nominate her for the Tonya Harding Award for 2009.

11. The news accounts report she plans to finish her master's at Fullerton,
so that suggests she would have to have the bachelor's to get into the program.

The degree is in counseling.

6. I left a message on her website
suggesting that she give some of her children to childless responsible parents who could afford their care, so that she did not have to beg - which is what her site is doing.

15. If her mother co-signs for those loans she is just nuts.
And I don't know how the little mommy would get loans without a co-signer. I know young people with no babies who can't do that.

16. I do find these matters grotesque. I suppose when Suleman's ledger approaches 100...
150+, or indeed her health is profoundly or mortally compromised as a result of less-than-ethical, for-profit medical procedures; I will await the opinions of others as to why teams of professionals were allowed to abuse her already tender separation anxieties http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Nadya-Sulemans-Fertility-Doctor-Under-Scrutiny.html

22. Master's could be obtained through on-line University programs
thus freeing her up to partake in the on-site rearing of all those babies.

My two-daughters are now in the process of obtaining their Master
Degrees just this way. They are also both working full-time jobs (education and nursing), while tending their children and homes.

This young woman has serious mental problems and it will be her children, parents, and taxpayers who will pay the piper because her parents couldn't legally stop her. So much for another one of Ronnie Reagan's solutions to "big government."
