An explosion has rocked an area near a gas processing plant in eastern Texas, causing a fire and prompting the evacuation of nearby residents. Company officials say employees from the DCP Midstream East Texas complex in Carthage were evacuated Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported and the plant was shut down. Shreveport, La. television station KSLA reports people living within a mile-and-a-half of the plant are being evacuated. Company officials say a highway next to the plant has been blocked. In a statement, the company also says the fire was diminishing. Carthage is located about 175 miles east of Dallas, near the Louisiana border.
