Anybody else here think Gregg did this to embarass Obama?
he uses the stimulus package as a reason! come on, this package is pretty much what it was looking like when he accepted the nomination.

I think he decided to embarrass the president and give the press another story to write about--instead of passage of the stimulus bill--the disaray Obama is having with some cabinet selections.

I ask you President Obama to stop trying to expect cooperation with these republicans. They haven't been trying to cooperate with you. In a way it's good that Gregg is gone. I urge you to appoint people who truly believe in what you want to do--and Howard Dean as HHS Secretary and Robert Reich as Commerce Secretary would be a good start.

1. I heard he also cited the Census, which happened after he was nominated.

5. I hope he whines about it a lot. Polls show most americans believe that Obama has tried
to be bipartisan. So the more this guy goes and whines, the more people say "Oh yeah, I remember Obama tried to have a Republican..."

7. He may have, but I think he embarrassed himself a lot more!
I know if I was a Pub Senator, I wouldn't look on him favorably, and if I was a Pub in Vt. I'd never vote for him again. IMO he can't be trusted.

8. That's the only reason to include the stimulus. So, yes.
This is a last ditch effort by the GOP to sink the stimulus.

They do the bidding of their masters.

10. No. I think any GOP would have "policy differences"
that would make it very difficult for him to work with Democrats.

I don't think Gregg was a bad guy, just not a very good one. We deserve better.

It's exactly the kind of underhanded shit they do & they always cop that Ollie North attitude afterward for good measure.

I'm amazed they stuck their hand in that snake pit.

17. Oh my.
Poor Judd. We're right back to this - Barack Obama is still the President with a marvelous approval rating, and Gregg is back to being a minority senator with a poor chance of reelection.

Some embarrassment. :)

20. I agree with the many here who think that the ONLY person Gregg embarrassed
is himself.

Personally, I am happy that he's out ... good riddance, a "token" Republican, indeed.

Republicans do not understand what it means to cooperate or to work for national, instead of Repiglican interests.

But please, Barack, QUIT listening to Rahm. We did NOT elect HIM. We elected YOU.

And when we sent all those Dem Senators and Congresspersons to DC, we did not expect you immediately to kowtow to the Repigs.

22. Yeah, most likely.
Of course, the truth is that there's no there there. I'm sure the right-wing MSM will howl endlessly, but the truth will come out that it's Gregg being the total douche, not Obama.

Obama, now, is free to pick whoever he wants now. I highly recommend picking someone even more liberal than Solis...

Now unless there's something scandalous in his past, why would he give up a major cabinet position?

Soemthing else is going on here.
