2. I like them both but you know I'm going with Cenk.

At the VERY least Sam deserves a full Monday-Friday radio show, but Air America is legendary for losing great talent (or demoting it in this case). I listen to M. V S., and I really enjoyed when Sam co-hosted TYT with Cenk.

Although a friend of mine (who's also a fan of both) made a good point the other night when he said that Sam tends to "um" excessively which can drive people crazy. That's not a dealbraker (for me), but I think it would be for some.

Cenk would be a great choice because:

1)-He's made huge inroads with New Media. The TYT youtube channel reached over 63 million views in 18 months which is astounding for anyone familiar with the format. Cenk would represent an inevitable and invaluable bridge between cable news and the internet.

2)-Building off of #1, Cenk could bring in an untapped, younger demographic. You know, all those young people who got involved this last election aren't necessarily interested in listening to yet another old white guy on TV.

3)-He's had an insanely impressive guest list which includes: , Arianna Huffington, Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, Alan Greenspan, Grover Norquist, , Naomi Klein, John Cusack and way too many others to name. Imagine who he could get on MSNBC?

4)-It would add some diversity. Viewers are ready for change, and that includes the aesthetics/background of their talk show hosts. After all, we did just elect "Barack Hussein Obama".

5)-His style and delivery are very different from both Maddow and KO. And he's proven his tv presence with his stints on CNN-HN, like when .

PS---Even if he doesn't get the job, this resume should be MORE than enough to give him a platform as a guest pundit on existing shows.

If you want to see TYT on MSNBC, join the .

26. I want to say that was at the RNC in 2006 but I'm not sure.
Unfortunately I can't find the audio/video. Other than that, there is audio/video available for just about everyone else I listed (figures, right?).

They are like a couple of girlfriends. I don't think they could command a large following on a network. And I do like them a lot.

9. Both are great, but I gotta go with Cenk
I discovered him years ago when TYT was text only, or at least looked like it, before Internet video. He has brass balls in terms of standing up to liars and their lies. Like a younger Thom Hartmann, he hangs the Repigs with their own chapter and verse and then gives an extra yank on the noose just for good measure.

Sam could be the anchor guy & Cenk do his editorials....they could both interview people, that would be great.

16. feels like a choice between a warhammer or a bastard sword
both are great for tearing RW talking points apart, though they finesse differently in approach. i'd prefer both, however the immediacy to put chinks in the RW/GOP armor right now seems a touch more pressing. so as much as i hate to choose, i'm going to go with the warhammer, Cenk. Sam would make a nice 'bastard sword through the visor' coup de grace, so i think he should come later -- but not too much later. Maron can be the party's bard/robin hood, stripping off the armor for scrap metal money to buy beer and write a victory song for the pub later.

i think i'm missing D&D...

Cenk takes the hide off the Repukes down to the bone in the most detailed and painful way possible. I, for one, would hate to be on the receiving end of one of his devastating logic bombs. Repigs walk into a Cenk interview but they hobble out on broken legs and without feet. he is one of the best we have.

21. Here's an idea...
First off, buy the new D&D rules, dude. They really are better.

How about we put Cenk in the 10pm timeslot and, while we reposition MSNBC to be the liberal network, kick Scarbrough off the morning show and give it to Sam?

20. Cenk
That gives us Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann and Cenk, three strong progressive voices and a great block of programming that MSNBC can build itself around as they (hopefully) reposition themselves as the liberal network.

22. Not a fan of Cenk
I think his "analysis" is lame, especially compared to Ms Maddow, and his presence in front of a camera is not great. I really like Sammy, but he'd have to be so heavily scripted (to eliminate the "um") that it would take away the spontaneity that makes Sammy so special. So I'd go elsewhere: David Sirota or something like that.

#1 top rated diary yesterday at DailyKos, and the #1 top rated thread today at DU:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x5038394

Now that's what I call some great analysis. :)

As for his camera presence, there's a reason TYT reached over 63 million views in 18 months and climbed into the top 100 most watched channels (not political channels, channels period), and it's not because they guy doesn't have camera presence.
