Maybe you thought you were imagining it? You weren't.

And it is just getting worse.

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/01/28/cable-news-stimulus/

And you thought there might be some experts on the air?

Think again.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200902110027?f=h_top

The media is arguably worse - arguably **much** worse - now than in the run up to the election. We need to work eight times as hard for one fourth the impact on the airwaves and over the cable wires.

60. I do have to admit though, there's a few shows
worth watching. I have been drawn into the Amazing Race when it's on, I still like 60 Minutes (I've watched that since I was a kid) and of course, SNL. I sincerely hope that the whole reality thing is going to wind down. Hopefully, TV will improve with an intellectual President! I'm still thrilled with every speech...

i've lived in stunned-dom for years that so few DU'er's, let alone Dem Pols, get this issue.

Election integrity (paper ballots) -- first priority

Media reform (restore Fairness Doctrine and ESP. restrictions on consolidation of media ownership -- second priority)

Without these, everything else we do is pushing water back over a busted dam.

71. Jan 26-28? Not good data
Look guys, before you start pointing this out to conservatives as proof the the "liberal" media is really conservative media, look at the dates that this study includes. It's not proof of a long standing correlation of media bias. While it's quite obvious that Fox is a speakerbox for the right: they frame every question, conveniently cut off anyone who doesn't agree with that perspective before they can flesh out their ideas, and deliberately mislead and report false charges, the fact that these news outlets have more republicans than democrats doesn't necessarily prove that they are biased, either. The republicans are opposing the stimulus, and as such are creating a news opportunity that will generate income for the news agencies reporting on it. The same way Obama was much more prominent in media coverage compared to McCain. Obama created more money generating "news." The media will sell anything that can make money, regardless of what ideology is behind it. What really concerns me is the data showing that economists make up a very little portion of the interviewees. If we have news media reform, it should go farther than balancing republican speakers and democratic speakers, it should do something to get real professional, technical, and scientific opinion when these are relevant to the debate in question. Not to mention letting third parties get a foot-hold in the BIalouge...
