So, um...I guess we're not going to hear the "miracle" meme today...
from the MSM in re: this plane crash. God must have been busy helping a Boston Bruin score a goal or something...

Gee...do you think maybe some people were praying?

Do you think Katie will ask that question this time?

Note the differences in coverage today...it's always interesting, especially in juxtaposition with the Hudson ditching.

2. God Hates Commuter Plane Passengers
That's why the miracle on the ground happened. Those people were spared by this miracle because they weren't on the kind of plane god hates.

4. God hates turboprops and loves jets.
Saint Sully proved it.

Multi-engine jet aircraft? Help is on the way!
Turboprop puddle-jumper? "Your call is very important to us. But due to unusually high call volume..."

9. I'll have to consult Pat Robertson, he's the one
with the direst line to God.

I'm sure there is a strange and mysterious reason that only God and Pat understand!

13. we all have different coping mechanisms. can't fault him for that.
seriously though,

he has a valid point about the MSM. it's all about the spin. MSM finds a way to selectively infuse religion into those events that are inperceivable.

it's never about the fact that the last pilot had massive skills, it was all "god's" doing. i think the point to take from this is that in the eyes of the MSM (and generally the public) good things happen and somehow god is given props, regardless of who was really responsible for said amazing feat. bad things happen and it's human error or the devil.

pretty silly if you think about it.

15. I never saw the meme that it was "all god's doing". Which part of the media put that out there?
Personally, I think the word "miracle" has morphed in much the same way the word "hero" has.

17. I don't watch Couric, but was aware of the uproar that she caused by asking him if he prayed.
Did she go on to say that the lack of loss of life was "all god's doing"? Did she at any point compliment him on his superb flying skills and emergency training?

14. Not deriding religion...
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 10:14 AM by PCIntern
deriding MSM Bullshit.

I happen to be, as I have stated in other posts a reasonably observant perosn who believes in higher order of nature...If people want to call it "God" then so be it...I am a follower of Martin Buber, one of whose precepts was, paraphrased, was "just because I do not perceive something does not meant that it does not exist." that was my sig line for years here...

19. No it's just sickening to hear
all the prayer crap associated with these things. Hands that help are better than lips that pray.
Religion is superstition. Maybe they all forgot to knock on wood before they took off. Or what.
