Like lawyers at a murder trial.
Congressman and senators could care less. They are debating the outcome of human lives with total un-involvement.

1. The Beltway Fishbowl
It's just not the politicians, but the corporate media and all else who live inside that bubbleworld. They all go to the same drinkie-drinkie parties and chit chat on their phones and blackberries like a bunch of high school gossips. Many enter that bubble and never leave...become so entrenched in the social climbing and back scratching to see beyond the bubble.

To them we're strictly numbers. We're either ratings or votes or approval ratings...an abstract without a face or name. When it serves their purpose, they climb out of the bowl to find those that agree with them, then back into the bubble when it becomes too uncomfortable for them.
