My layoff notice. On Friday the 13th no less.

Add me to the list of the jobless. Got my notice today. Hunkering down for a looooong stretch of unemployment, as I've NEVER seen the job market this bleak. Ever.

Know what's particularily aggravating? The company I have been laid off from is currently under investigation by the SEC, and the latest nasty gram from the SEC indicates they're ready to take aggressive action against the company because of executives executing a backdating scam involving the company stock. When we originally received SEC notice, the previous CEO abruptly resigned, took his ill gotten gaines, and is likely on a beach somewhere sipping a margarita and laughing at the mess left behind, and lots of good worker bees are out of a job as a result.

Somebody reassure me that's something he can be trying on a pair of handcuffs for....

At least you can collect unemployment for up to a year now...not that that's some great thing, but in this economy you take what you can get.

At least now you'll get up to 46 weeks of unemployment.


And by early 2010, the economy will be turning around.... and you'll be back on your feet.
