Sick and Tired of Friends Trying to Sell Me Snake Oil
What is it with people and the snake oil they try to sell me? Every time I so much as mention that I am tired, a friend or coworker will have some "supplement" or "health product" to sell me. If I don't want to buy it, then they ask me if I want a "little extra cash" in my pocket. For some reason, the worst ones are Republicans. What do I say to these folks short of "I don't want this shit"?

2. Everyone is low on cash and in debt - and there are no jobs except that kind of crap
Zillions of jobs are outsourced. It's either sell that stuff or take a fast food restaurant min. wage job along with 17 year olds.

3. Yeah, I reconnected with an old friend I haven't seen in almost 20 years.
The first thing she does is try to pitch some patent medicine on me. Apparently, berries, roots and a bunch of other stuff someone found in the woods is supposed to make me immortal.

7. Ah, the pyramid schemes...they never end.
Everyone wants to build their downline, so they can move to the next level. So, they try to rip off everyone they know into buying into the stupid marketing scheme. They just don't know that they're already at the bottom of a pyramid that is about to collapse.

What to tell them? Heck, I don't know, but "No, thanks" is a pretty good start. Just keep repeating it until they go away and stop bothering you.

10. People who are suckers for the loopiest political and religious dogma
are suckers for the snake oil industry.

The only good news is that most of their miracle cures give people nothing worse than expensive urine.

My best advice is to turn them down politely, saying you're afraid of interactions with the medication your doctor has prescribed. Oh, and please don't mention 9/11, chemtrails, or any other conspiracy nut magnet to them unless you want to be buttonholed for hours.

12. Start a long discourse about Madoff and Pyramid Schemes
Then ask if they would fall for that sort of arrangement.

LOL -- watch the reaction.

Unfortunately, a lot of people fall for Amway and other pyramid arrangements.

You can always ask if they paid a lot for their sales kit.

Sad, really sad.

Stay away if approached.
