What happens to us Sirius/XM subscribers if the company goes into bankruptcy?

The main thing I'm concerned about here is, will I still have my radio programming. Will the company be liquidated? Will there still be a satellite radio to listen to? Or will the hundreds of dollars I spent on a 2 year subscription, the radio device, antennas, car installation, a signal repeater for at home, and speakers all go down the toilet.

I don't mind changes to the programming. I could give 2 shits about Howard Stern. I just need to know that my radio will still be there.

1. Your radio will still be there.. it just won't work

IF they shut down completely...but it's likely they will continue to operate..just under the bankruptcy plan that's devised for them.. they may cut services or eliminate channels..(watch for Air America to go first:(..)

Over time, they could see higher rates and some programming dropped. It is unlikely that the company would be "liquidated." More likely it will be bought. The licenses that XM/Sirius have for their transmissions could be transferred, but presumably only on condition that the new owner continues to use the spectrum for the same purposes.

I bought the ala carte package - 50 channels of my favorites for $6.99 a month.

I couldn't care less about the "premium" shit like Stern.

I only have about 20 favorites stored on my radio.
