What's the $2 billion discrepancy in stimulus package numbers?
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 04:05 PM by Tamyrlin79
Reports from earlier this week indicated that the conference report agreed to a $789 billion recovery bill. However, the reports out today are that the House just past a $787 billion bill, a $2 billion difference. Does anyone know what the source of the discrepancy? Was it a typo in the press articles, or did more programs get slashed before the bill hit the House floor? And if so, what?

The press I've read haven't apparently focused on this question, so was wondering if anyone else noticed and/or knew the answer...
