Is this why there is never any help for the poor. People that have it good think that God is smiling on them. If I got an 180 million dollar retirment package, I couldn't help but think that God is smiling on me. Coupled with Matthew 26:11: "You will always have the poor with you". There is no chance for help for the poor. Are these the reaons nothing is ever done to really help the poor and low income people? The poor and low income are not smiled upon by God.

personally and financially. TBN's Paul and Jan Crouch live in a 5 million dollar mansion with money made off of the backs of the poor and disabled.
Politicians are afraid to do anything about them because they need the support of the lemmings that follow them.

4. In the Far East, "Karma" serves the same purpose. |
|
Alan Watts once wrote that the whole notion of Karma was bs. And he was responsible for turning the west onto Buddhism.

5. Hmm. Interesting. I always figured Karma was supposed to be more just. |
|
The Calvinists steal everyone's stuff and then claim they have more stuff because God likes them better.

7. I am beginning to believe that there is no justice. |
|
The last eight years have had an affect on my belief systems.
I like the idea of Karma too. It certainly works in physics.

6. And I have long noticed, those who snarl at the poor to 'pull themselves up by their bootstraps' |
|
too often have their own boots resting on the necks of the poor

8. "Whatsoever you do unto the least of these, you do unto me." |

Jesus lived his life on Earth as a poor man, and His sermons focused heavily on compassion for the less fortunate. If God blesses us with wealth, I am pretty sure He expects us to share.
