God Bless Jimmy Carter
I love the guy.

I'm glad he put aside the bullshit rumors about the assumed Clinton snub at the inauguration. (There was NO snub. They had just finished spending about 15 minutes together back stage and there were hand shakes, hugs and kisses and congratulations all around.

I nominate Jimmy Carter for America's Patron Saint.

1. Didn't you love what he said about Republican representatives?
They are robots who have to do what their bosses tell them to do.

4. I was on the couch, and went, "Oh SNAP!" when he said that.
He could give Obama a few lessons about bipartisanship.

5. Its true.. I think we need to get ahold of all their funding lists.. find the corp execs
and plan a few boucotts.. may be a bit hard since they seem to be the one's who own all media, phones, electricity, and fuel for our cars.. but they are holding us hostage and this shit needs to end.

14. YES!!
This is exactly why the House Pugs voting NO unanimously on the stimulus bill is meaningless: it is only one vote...and 182 carbon copies.

And, incidentally, a point I have personally been making for years. It makes a travesty of representative government. As far as I know it started with Tom Delay.

God Bless Jimmy Carter!

21. Republican Robots
Not only do I love what Jimmy Carter said about the Republicans being robots, but since he is at an age when he can say whatever he likes, I wish he would speak out more. He can say it like it is and doesn't have to worry about re-election, which gives him credibility. Speak out more, Jimmy.

19. Iran-Contra was a Reagan scandal: contras smuggled cocaine, and the profits bought missiles for Iran
The question Why was Reagan buying missiles for Iran in the mid-1980s? has a natural answer: Reagan had cut a deal with Iran during the 1980 Presidential campaign, so that Iran would not release the US Embassy hostages until Reagan took office. That enabled Reagan to take full advantage of the Embassy hostage issue, which undercut Carter's re-election campaign. And sure enough! the hostages were released instantly after Reagan finished swearing the Presidential oath in January 1981

7. I love the guy, too
His mind is so sharp. And I'm forever in his debt for his suggestions of frugality. My folks always taught that but he inspired me to do better.

17. Proud, once again, to be a Georgia liberal.
I don't get that feeling very often, but the 39th President regularly evokes that emotion in me.

:patriot:

The United States is a LIBERAL Country.

18. I understand. I grew up in GA when it didn't seem to be as bad,
moved to TN and both states have gone to hell, but I admire Jimmy Carter, and so has my recovering republican mother. She even stated to me that Carter was the last decent, caring president that we had, and then she voted for repukes (even Bush**). Try to figure that one out, lol!
