I tried some googling, but results varied.

What's the scoop?

1. Tough to add that, I guess, because so little is made here anymore.
Unless you buy local, which I try hard to do.

The whole HDTV mess got me started - I cannot find ONE SINGLE CONVERTER that is made in the United States. None. Zip. :(

4. The Chinese infrastructure means more to Cat than
the rebuilding of ours does. My own company does a very healthy export business. We have huge domestic content in our products.

I can understand the Buy American push, but maybe we need to handle it in other ways than ham handedly including it in legislation. We do need politicians that are willing to sit quietly across the table and reach agreements. If we can correct our trade issues with just a few countries, trade will once again become a benefit for us and those countries. Not everything necessarily needs to be made in the U.S., but we should not see a large difference in trade in either direction.

3. It's in, but was limited to "meet the requirements of international trade agreements". (nt)
