Just made my first donation ever to DU. feels great!

Joined about a little over a year ago and read DU every day, post here and there, and really truly appreciate this place. Have wanted to donate every fundraising drive, but last year was HARD, probably my worst year financially ever, no surprise eh? What little I had to spare went to Obama's campaign, and one donation to Franken, but other than that it's been scraping by. This year thankfully has gotten a little easier and it's a great feeling to finally be able to give something back to this wonderful forum.

one question, how do I give my hearts out? I tried every way I could think of, and couldn't even find a page to let me. IF anyone knows and can fill me in let me know....

1. Once your donation is processed, you're credited with a stash of hearts.

Then you find a post by a person you admire and at the bottom it'll say "Click here to give this person a valentine heart (You have _ left)" ... and then you click on that and select from the assortment of hearts one which you feel is suitable.

That's it.


Oh. And there's an unwritten rule (in my imagination at least) that we should "Pay It Forward" ... and give at least as good as we get. (As a fellow on a fixed income, I just try really hard to be unlovable. Many have noticed. Thank God.)

I wish I could donate to DU but I don't have credit card, I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on one day to find out some generous DUer donated in my name. I loved DU before then but someone being kind enough to donate in my name made me love and appreciate DU and the community here even more. I'm glad to hear you donated, I hope to one day do the same.

I don't know who donated in my name but to who ever it was, I thank you and truly appreciate it. :hug:
