"Liberals have finally joined the ranks of scoundrels like Hitler."
"By charging this big lie, liberals have finally joined the ranks of scoundrels like Hitler."

I know you are, but what am I?

That would be former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX), in his new book No Retreat, No Surrender, on being charged with violating Texas campaign-finance laws. Good to see he's learned from his mistakes. (Hat tip Bloggernista and Political Wire).

1. Well, if we have joined the ranks of scoundrels like Hitler
I'm assuming the GOP was there with a big welcome banner and was asking us, "What kept you?"

2. What is it
about the right and their obsession with Hitler? We had Rummy comparing Chavez to him. Then there was Condi with Ahmandinejad(sp) and now DeLay and his BS. When all else fails, I guess Hitler is the fallback position!

10. Welcome to DU, burf.

:hi:

All of their comparisons also attempt to minimize the horror that Hitler wrought. When they compare their political rivals (Dems) to Hitler, they trivialize the experience and mock the survivors. It makes me sick. :puke:

And another thing, Dennis the Menace was a bit of a scoundrel, Hitler was a monster.

5. Since when is Hitler just a "scoundrel"??????
That, to me, is just as bad or even worse than the scurilous comparison.

19. Remember how Bush referred to the people who flew the planes into the World Trade buildings?
Edited on Mon Mar-26-07 12:44 PM by Poiuyt
"These folks." He later cranked it up to "evil doers."

12. MOST revealing is DeLay thinks Hitler was a mere "scoundrel"!!
Okay, it means "villain", but also "rogue", which dilutes the "villain" aspect for me.

15. I guess we can compare that crook and his followers to...
lemmings like the ones at Jonestown who drank the kool-aid?

Looking at all the disasters they've brought (and the ones they R about to bring sooner than later), I have not doubt they R.

20. Hitler might not have been such a *scoundrel* without the likes of Prescott Bush.

Or did BugMan conveniently overlook that point?
