Tell us in your own words, why you have no stomach for what passes as conservative opinion
It's quite clear to me that they have no understanding of the truth, whatsoever.

On one hand they say that their philosophy is one which is best to build up the poor and the middle class, when all they are doing is screwing the poor and the middle class for the benefit of the ultra rich.

...And when we point this out, WE are the ones committing "Class Warfare"? Utter bullshit.

They are the ones who know best to keep the country safe by creating a permanent host of enemies that we have to bomb.

Even when I was working at the Pentagon, I never understood the logic of giving so much of our wealth to the defense industry to the detriment of our nation's other needs.

As a black man, I've noticed that most of the condescending and outright racist language comes out of the mouths of so-called conservatives.

I never understood why being insulted by the right is supposed to get me to support them. Just more cognitive dissonance on their part.

For a group of people who claim to celebrate America's heritage of religious freedom, they seem to be the first in line to oppose it.

I mean, how can burying their noses in the ass of a narrow segment of religious conservatives pass as defense of religious freedom in this country? Everyone in America is entitled to worship or not to worship, whatever deity they see fit, as long as that worship does not impose on the freedom of others to do the same.

If conservatives do their best to promote people who use their zealotry to subjugate others, then it's quite the opposite of religious freedom, I think.

Defense of modern conservatism seems to be nothing more than a defense of war mongering, greed, lies, homophobia, religious zealotry, selfishness and racism.

But most of all in my humble opinion, conservatives are the most contrarian people in existence. Every action that they take seems to be in complete opposition to their stated goals:

They oppose abortion by making it harder for women not to be pregnant.

They try to make us safer by flooding the streets with cheap weapons and creating whole classes of dangerous criminals with mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent crimes.

They tell us peace is best achieved by perpetual war.

That prosperity is created by making more and more people uneducated, sick and impoverished.

And they tell us that only they have a monopoly on the truth, which to any thinking person, is nothing but an outright lie.

It seems to me that anyone who claims to be a "conservative" is the last person that one should listen to...

I mean, what good has any of these assholes done to improve the life of anyone other than themselves?

It's about time that the "Conservatives" are no longer in charge. They have created most of the messes by which the electorate was convinced to depose them, and still they blabber on as if they haven't got the message.

To be a modern conservative is to be the most obtuse motherfucker in existence. I don't have to be Andy Dufresne to know that shit.

And by the way, nice rant

To me, they are like the greedy kids in Willy Wonka. "But I want it now Daddy!

A brief study of conservatives reveals a history of humans who destroy every resource they touch, who believe in enlaving other humans (whether in prison or in low -wage jobs) for profit, and who will lie, insult, cheat and steal just to win.

I don't know how they are raised, but their parents: EPIC FAIL.

the brazen greed and hypocrisy, and of course their anti-humane ideas being couched as good.Conservatism is a disease. It takes one to a very vile place in mind to think like a conservative,It takes an evil mind to believe in conservatism.

The evil heartless inhumanity that conservatives are is to me, putrid..putrid as sociopaths. Because after all getting away with sociopath behavior is what they stand for. You'd see it if you look at the personalities that tout conservative shit and observe what they are like. It fits.

6. Hypocrisy
pretty much sums it up. They are only conservative when it comes to helping others. They are pro-life and pro-war, for the poor while giving the rich tax cuts. I could go on for days and days but I am sure you get the point. A woman actually came into my agency to donate food to the poor and told me I will give this food if you can promise me the Mexicans won't get it. I asked her how this was an act of charity and told her if she gave the food then any hungry person had access to it regardless of their race or ethnic background. She took her food and left. On the way out the door she said she was going to tell her church about us helping Mexicans. I must be missing something. I was raised by a mother who took me to peace marches and civil rights marches almost every weekend during my formative years. My parents are white and in their late 80s and they had one of three yards in our entire town with an Obama sign before the election. My father even refused to go to his granddaughters Christmas dinner because her husband is a bigot. My father said, "I will not break bread with a bigot." So it isn't age, it isn't living in a city since my parents were both raised in very rural areas and didn't move to an urban area until they were in their 40s and then moved back to the small town to retire. My mother is very religious but when anyone says something about other people she replies only God can judge. I am so lucky to have these two as parents.

either false data, or no data at all. The "arguments" are usually just thinly disguised appeals to racism, fear, etc.

If you ever *do* happen to read a coherent conservative argument, it eventually exposes itself as an excuse for afflicting the afflicted and comforting the comfortable. That's old school conservatism, and it still fuels the GOP.

14. Order versus Freedom
Great post, Mr. Scorpio.

In the past it was the great fight of order vs. freedom. It is now almost entirely about maintaining privilege - race, gender, or religion - in the face of rapidly changing world. They have become nothing more than rigid ideologues. As liberals we must eschew dogma and embrace reason. We must continue mankind's struggle for freedom, justice, and equality.

31. Privilege is an ordering. Modern Republicans must be that minority of people
who believe their lives can only be good by oppressing others because as far as I can tell, that's their only guiding principle.

They don't really believe in small government at all. They obviously aren't fiscally responsible and their private lives show what a sham their claims of "social conservatism" are.

what Lincoln and the Repub party did 150 years ago. Never mind what's gone down in the last 60 years! Focus your mind only on what happened before electricity was invented!

Defense of modern conservatism seems to be nothing more than a defense of war mongering, greed, lies, homophobia, religious zealotry, selfishness and racism.

23. It's really simple to me..
... Republicans try to surround their basically selfish and racist ideas with a kind of moral justification. They act like they are for "everyman", but they really only care about the rich and white.

Their insatiable greed has led the country now to the brink of a long term depression. Even so, few realize it and none will admit it. They, the politicians, are human garbage pure and simple.

27. It's like life the concept of spontaneous life out of rotting meat
Conservative thought has had it time in the sun. And that, after the rock was overturned.

It's morbidly facinating in a way, how wrong, I mean reallly wrong, human beings can be.

Conservative thought thinks it preserves tradition and "values". It pretends it knows what traditions and values are worthy enough to be preserved. It hates and fears change and growth. It will sit forever in pain and confusion and anger and hatred before it would look at a new ways of reasoning or of thinking and or of doing

It rewrites history and lives in a kind of nostalgia for a world that never, ever existed. It's not real. It's destructive. It's delusional.

What conservatives really want is a fantasy world of royalty, Kings and Queens, pomp and circumstance. It wants a Merchant class. It wants slaves or serfs. More than anything else, it wants Someone Else To Blame. An eternal "Other" is essential to conservative thought.

It's stuck on a kind of perpetual stutter, sort of like a repeat nightmare in a Steven King novel you know, one of those nightmares that just gets a little worse each time you dream.

They are small minded, nasty shitty people, and there is no reason at all to listen to any of them.

29. Plus: what passes for "conservative" as they see it is in reality no such thing.
Being a social control freak, a religious nut, or a social elitist who wants to
confiscate wealth and resources for the sake of a few to the detriment of the many
is hardly conservative.

I get so-called "conservatives" coming at me with their warped views and tell them
this: I have had (an still have) one wife, a stable family, no drugs (including alcohol,
tobacco or religion), no debts, and no criminal record. I'm more conservative than
you'll ever be, and I'm a proud Democrat, so find another label for your hate, your greed,
and your social dysfunction. "Conservative" doesn't cut it.
