Yes but so long as that socialist political structure enriches those who “control” the state, everything is hunky dory in DC!!

The stimulus bill violates every free market principle

That is the bill's entire point! Its authors want socialism.

I believe rather than socialism it is leading to a Russian style of Communism. Look carefully at the ruling party. Obama is an empty head fool with the power of signing anything into law. Both the Senate and House are corrupt power hungry nitwits who will exercise anything to enrich their voter base. (Effective way to use the Constitution) The courts are mostly a joke. The Supreme Court will be raped. We are here, folks. Example, the ramrod of the stimulus bill.

Command economies do not, however, impoverish those who administer them, thus the motive.

We'll soon be able to pick out Obama's people on the street. They'll be just like Magabe's henchmen, driving new trucks loaded with Zimbabwe bucks to go spend at the local bakery on a loaf of bread...

Thus the adage, Republics are not destroyed from the outside, until they destroy themselves from within.

1. Oh dear. I thought they would wait until nationalization to break out the "Mugabe" bullshit
Edited on Sat Feb-14-09 05:30 PM by kenny blankenship
Well Pres. Obama, if you were shying away from nationalizing the big banks and breaking them up because you were afraid your enemies would taunt you with chants of "Mugabe! Mugabe! Mugabe!", you don't have to hold back anymore. They are going to do that anyway.

2. But there was no danger of freedom dying when the Decider said he could
say someone was an enemy combatant and that was all it took to deprive them of any chance of defending themselves.

OK, freepers.

3. Fucking hell, I **HATE** when freeps use that "This is how freedom dies" line
It's very clear when that line is used in Star Wars that the point is very much that a freeperish, not a liberal, governmental policy is what has brought the death of freedom.

Stupid people using lines out of context and to mean the exact opposite of what was intended are annoying as total fuckall infinity.

12. I wonder why they used the name of Magabe as a bugaboo?
Instead of, say, Wen Jiabao, China's Premier, or better yet, Vladimir Putin?

These are the kinds of things that infuriate me: total ignorance laced with innuendo.

14. They are going to keep trying every RW buzz word in their
bag of lies and pulling out selected arguments they have used over the past fifty years or so to see if any of them might work today. They are desperately trying to find one that will scare the independents and middle grounders back in their corner.

Their party has constricted into a narrow coalition of fundamentalists, neocons and supply siders. Their actions over the last 8 years have effectively cast aside fiscal conservatives and libertarians that used to be in their fold.

They are desperate to find some way to "scare" the impressionable centrists, independents and conservative democrats--a strategy that worked flawlessly after 9/11--and becoming more desperate as each successive tactic fails to get any traction--this despite the fact that they are getting plenty of help from the MSM.

It has only been 3 1/2 weeks since inauguration day. The passage of the recovery act is the latest and biggest success of the Obama administration, which has now stacked an incredible list of positive achievements in a remarkably short time. They are showing the republicans that the tsunami they feared on election night was not a mirage.

This narrow republican coalition, which more and more resembles the old confederacy in ideology and geography, will continue grasping at straws. They will reach back into all the old bags of tricks desperately searching for a message that can save them. And they will look more and more foolish, and constrict themselves into an ever narrowing ideological knot.
