Friends tell us that it has slowed the drive to raise some $500 million to build and endow the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Dallas's Southern Methodist University. "It's a bad environment," says one. Bush is taking no chances: He's making donor calls himself, and even his dad, the 41st president, is helping out, as are former aides like Karl Rove. In the future, say associates, look for Bush to host fundraising events in order to meet a goal of completing construction in 2013. But for now, "he's laying low," says one."

10. The Counter-Bush Library would get more donations than Shrub's

I remember when President Clinton left office, some freepers were going to build a really grandiose monument to all his malfeasance. It didn't go anywhere, in no small part because the Counter-Clinton Library was scheduled to cost more than the official Clinton Presidential Library.

I figure that if we get an old convenience store, put a cut-out of Shrub standing behind the register (to demonstrate the kind of job the man is capable of doing well, if he didn't get fired for violating the store's antidrug policies), and stick fifteen or sixteen computers leashed to a server to hold the evidence of Dipshit's criminality, we could put together a really good Counter-Bush Library for about $45,000. You'd have building maintenance, utilities and taxes, plus the salaries of a couple people who surfed the web looking for dirt on Fearless Leader, but those wouldn't come to very much.
