Anyone watching 60 minutes tonight - a "whistle blower" for morgage companies is excellent

He got fired before he was going to warn Wakovia on the purchase of the bank he worked at (his bank lossed 36 billion which helped bring Wakovia down with them)

1. But he didn't warn Wachovia.

Not that I think it would have done a bit of good. I don't believe Wachovia was an innocent.

Just two nights ago I was out and ran into an old friend. He introduced me to the guy he was with and we got into a discussion about the mortgage/housing mess. The new guy insisted/argued/screamed that the borrowers were entirely to blame for the problem. I tried to tone it down and explain the part played by other actors but he kept insisting that it was just the fault of the end users - the borrowers. Within two minutes of meeting him for the first time I told him to stop shouting at me and that it was obvious he did not know what he was talking about.

He stupidly and loudly continued with his insistence that the banks/lenders/mortgage brokers were not to blame for any of this. I turned and asked my friend if this guy was a right wing nut because all of his talking points were fundie and also seemed racist. My friend responded that he is a liberal Democrat and was a big Obama supporter. He also mentioned that his degree is in economics.

Still trying to figure out how he could be so aggressively stupid and wrong I talked to him for another minute. After I told him for the third time he was completely ignorant of the facts he stormed off and out the door of the bar. I got stuck paying for his Bud.

I hope he was watching tonight but I doubt it will make a dent in his pea brain.
