I'm streaming it from AM1090seattle.com. He's not my favorite, but better than listening to Skinner. I can't believe they took the board down!! That really makes me wonder. I mentioned it on the board the other day, noticing that the copyright says NovaM on the entire therandirhodesshow.com site. Maybe Randi still owns the content but now it has no home?

I'm bummed about Nancy Skinner's show. She's obviously bright and well-informed but here's my beef. The right wing extremists and Rush lemmings already have so much more airtime than progressives - I don't want to have to hear them on "my" progressive talk radio. I don't appreciate Nancy giving them even more opportunity to spew their distortions, talking points and misinformation, even if she does do that so she can argue with them. I just don't want to hear it. So no more talk radio for me on KPOJ in Portland OR from 3-7 daily. I emailed them. Maybe if enough people do so, they'll change it!

Randi sometimes got to me with her shrill extremism, but for the most part I agreed with her point of view and appreciated her grasp of issues. Then again, it drove me nuts how she'd take callers and then talk all over them - why take callers if you're not gonna let them talk?

Still, I miss her and felt much more supported and informed than now with rightwingers on progressive radio. Get 'em off! Let them call Rush and do their talking point lockstep thing.

I used to listen to 'Ski and Skinner' back in the day and I'm wondering what happened to the tough-as-nails broad I remember. Does she work better with a partner? Did two failed runs for office break her spirit? Because I distinctly remember Nancy Skinner nailing warmongers to the wall - not desperately trying to reassure displeased Randi fans that she IS a real progressive by playing her old campaign ads.

When I listen to progressive radio, I want to hear real fighters - not Fox News liberals and whiny failed politician-wannabees. And I'm sad to say that that's all Nancy Skinner sounds like now.

Bring back Randi!

people complain that randi is rude to callers, but that's what i really like about her; she's appropriately rude to insolence, unpreparedness, and general stupidity. such callous behaviors deserve the callous disregard in response. i myself have had to work incredibly hard to mellow out my near spastic vitriol versus the inexcusably ignorant. it's live air for chrissakes! don't waste everyone's time stammering unsubstantiated nonsense or repeating already known lies -- and if you are pulling out of your ass, best not be all flabbergasted if someone calls you on your bullshit.

that's why i like randi; she does what skinner does only rarely. it took the head of UAW Steel Workers to do her job on the radio this friday, and that was a spur of the moment call and matchup. most of the time it's just a waste of my time, like this week and that crazy woman from Faux Nooz versus her and some other guy about the economy and stimulus bill. at some point i just turned it off; i gave a week to this noise and that's all i'm getting RW noise. i can watch Faux or turn the dial if i wanted to waste my time and raise my blood pressure.

no, the only thing now worthwhile on Nova M/On Second Thought, is Mike Malloy. that "rudeness" is why i LOVE Mike Mallow and Randi Rhodes (and occasionally from Sam Seder, Maron, Cenk, Maddow, Miller via backhanded compliments, etc). swaggering idiots need to be prosecuted with full, unadulterated prejudice they deserve, repeatedly, until their behavior improves. (yes, very much "the whippings will continue until morale improves" but wholly warranted because these jackasses are DANGEROUS -- bravado easily sways the weak of mind, and the last thing i want is the weak of mind swept up with ignorance at the helm.)

i too will cease streaming and wait for Randi to return. now whether to keep contributing for all these shows individually? i don't know if i can afford that.
