What you say Paco…a toy for every season?

Yes I heard him right, and he explained how they were poor when he was a kid but they had a toy for every season of the year.
And he told me of a time when they were around 10 he and other kids around his age would collect matchboxes and make adobe bricks with them and build a replica of the community they lived in…he would always get the church. And when it was finished it would just get washed away by the rain or the bigger kids would knock it down…but that was the toy for that season.

I say that Paco grew up richly because the toys of his season taught him many things that more affluent parents cannot provide with all the toys in China.. and in many cases today our children grow up impoverished though they have toys strewn all over yards everywhere and have there own room with all the trappings of there age group, and sleep one to the bed.
What impoverishes them is the lack of real life experiences gained through play in the natural world.
They need to be outside in the fresh air chasing bugs or catching frogs or building a fort where all their friends can gather to plot their next adventure.
They need to make there own toys in there own season and to connect with the earth wind and sky.
They don’t need anything from parents other than love, plenty of food and a warm bed at night….and so much the better if it is shared.
