I watched your 60 Minutes interview with Elizabeth and John Edwards. I found you insensitive and judgmental. Particularly toward Senator Edwards, whom you portrayed as uncaring and self-obsessed.

You were more preoccupied with Elizabeth Edwards' dying than with her genuine desire to live. You challenged her positivism and vitality. You painted her future as bleak.
Why such negativity, Katie? Yes, cancer isn't good news. But your badgering seems suspect. Didn't you hear Elizabeth's response when you suggested she's staring at death? She said, "Aren't we all?"

Didn't you get that, Katie? We ultimately face the same fate. Elizabeth hasn't surrendered. Don't presume that she should.

Many in America know the tragedies you have suffered, Katie. You were a widow much too young. Your loving husband, Jay, lost his battle with colon cancer after a valiant effort to prevail. Your older sister, Emily, succumbed to pancreatic cancer after she similarly fought to prevail.

an apology. She was waaaaay off base.

But then, some people may may say she has grown bitter through her own loss. But others may say she is a hack. Or perhaps some say her questions should have been referenced. While other say that she is an over-rated journalist to begin with -- the Edward's interview just made that fact blatantly obvious. Some say she could never fill the shoes that Walter Cronkite used to fill. Others say her interview was dispicable and filled with bias...And so forth and so on.

That interview should be a lesson for every journalism student on "how not to conduct an interview".

Katie, you blew it...The only thing that was good and right about that interview was the dignity and courage that beamed from every response the Edwards' had for your disgraceful line of questioning!!!

Go back to the morning show, Katie. You're out of your league.

and how badly Americans reacted to the whole notion of being instructed on how they should deal with a devastating family medical crisis?

Little Katie is going to regret her actions. Watching the Edwards have their personal medical decisions rudely questioned clearly is not playing well in the hinterlands.
