Freerepublic - Racists (Who would have guessed)
Here's a nice excerpt I found at that wasteland:

Vietnam tense as China war is marked ( 30 years ago)

Vietnam is marking the anniversary of its border war with China with an uneasy quiet, as official channels avoid mentioning the events of 30 years ago.
But simmering nationalistic emotions are being brought to the surface by painful memories.
Hoang Thi Lich, 72, remembers vividly the morning of 17 February 1979, when she and her family woke to a suffocating sense of panic in the mountains of Cao Bang.
As dawn broke, China launched attacks on a number of positions in Vietnam's northernmost provinces with a staggering display of so-called "human waves" and artillery power.

I remember it well. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of Commies. Too bad Russia didn’t get into the melee on Vietnam’s side (officially)....

Xenophobia and racial slurs; these 2 phrases pretty much describes the entire site. If you check out the guy's username "ketelone," it says he's been a registered member since 2005 so you know he wasn't a troll. In fact, if you look at the guy's post history, he pretty much derides any and all ethnic groups you can think of under the sun.

The Walking Brain Stems. Just ambulatory masses of ganglia with little cellular differentiation. Earthworms have an intellectual leg up on them.

4. Free republic should be listed as a hate site
I lurk over there, for some reason I can't look away. The bad spelling, Xenophobia, traitor accusations,It reminds me of the movie Downfall. I honestly can;t believe a group of "patriots" are ready to leave the nation on an Ayn Rand vacation from reality. This is my 2nd post here, and it takes a major distorted reality for them to paint you guys as unhinged whack jobs, while the people threatening gays and other minorities are the sane ones. Unreal.Anyone else here like to read the ramblings over there? I have to admit some of the freeper threads I have found on here have me rolling on the floor laughing.Does that get my Democrat card pulled?

5. I check FR out most days myself.
I'm mostly after the wacky Palin and Birther threads, but you never know what's going to turn up! In extreme cases, I post some of the funnier/wackier comments here on DU.

I have to admit, though, that it was much less satisfying to read their smug, clueless ramblings when the Republicans controlled everything. Now that they can only rage impotently, it's a stitch.
