Life magazine to cease publishing in April
Life magazine, the storied publication that once exemplified the power and reach of Time Inc., will publish its last edition as a weekend newspaper supplement on April 20.

Known for its photography and family-friendly editorial, Life was relaunched in 2004 as a competitor of Parade, and quickly achieved weekly circulation of more than 12 million copies. But it never caught on with advertisers, and was frequently mentioned as a weak spot at Time Inc., which has been under pressure from parent company Time Warner to boost profits.

..snip..

The latest failure marks the end of more than two decades of trying to revive the iconic brand, which flourished as a photo-heavy weekly from 1936 until 1972. It had been reintroduced twice before-once as an occasional special issue, and later as a monthly.

..snip..

In today's announcement, the media company reaffirmed its commitment to the Life brand. An online portal for the magazine's 10 million photographs is in the works, and Time Inc. will continue to publish books under the Life name.

What's Life?
A magazine.
How much doe's it cost?
It costs 15 cents.
But I've only got a nickle.
That's Life.

6. Life is a Cabaret.
Start by admitting
From cradle to tomb
Isn't that long a stay.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Only a Cabaret, old chum,
And I love a Cabaret!

9. Life is but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then
is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound a fury, signifying nothing.

8. I could've sworn they already shut down production.
Either way, it's getting bad for magazines. Premiere just shut down their magazine production and are going completely online.
