that hasn't changed...the news is scary...the economic situation has already destroyed any chance of retirement or normalcy for me...but its better than the horrific stuff that I used to discover on a daily basis..the torture.ineptitude...arrogance...willful disregard...destruction of the constitution ..on and on..of the last administration...

Yep the news is terrible...but it has been worse...

2. True things aren't great but

You need to realize that the media, owned by corporate america, tends to make more out of things than they need to. They love "doom and gloom", it bring up their ratings, and the love "conflict" between members of congress, once again it brings up their ratings. Now that Bush is gone they are doing their best to make Obama look bad, and they are good at what they do. Reporters don't care about truth, they care about ratings, and ratings are always up when things are bad, or during an election year.

Don't get me wrong, things are not good, but now that Bush and his gang of criminals are not in charge, we have a chance to make things better. It won't be easy, but at least we have a chance.

3. The backbone and resourcefulness of the American citizenry are not measured by taking the pulse

of the charlatans on Wall Street. The media tend to focus on the Wall Street Casino numbers as though they measure something real.

Gardens are real. Neighbors helping each other out is real. Volunteering at the neighborhood school is real. The Wall Street numbers are vapor from heavy breathing of frightened people who have never really worked a day in their lives and haven't a clue how to begin.
