So I'm Supposed To Feel Sorry For A-Rod & Forgive Him Now.....
funny all these athletes and movie stars and politicians that get into trouble now - all they have to do is say I'm sorry - hold a press conference - and then they can go on with life. Some example they are showing!!!!

1. You weren't supposed to care in the first place.

2. According to *some* Yankees fans, all he has to do is help them win the World Series.
Then, all is forgiven.

11. Sadly, the WS takes place in October.
A-Rod can't play in October. I think it's contractual. Or congenital. One of those. So I guess he's never forgiven.

3. You forgot the "Young and Stupid" defense, too
These guys are no better than anyone else. Its time we wake up to that fact. Just because they get paid a shitload of money does not make them any better or any different. Some are smart, some are dumb.

And if you're gunna feel sorry for this lunkhead, you need to also feel sorry for that swimmer guy.

By the way, watching this presser, he strikes me as being, at a maximum, of just a bit lower than average intelligence.

9. You, Sir, are brilliant

Ahh. Pay-Rod's ugly little secret is exposed!

If he were smart at all, he'd know that this isn't going to work. His reputation for being nasty to his teammates, let alone the hapless fans that have the temerity to approach and attempt to shake his hand or get an autograph, has been well-known since he was in Seattle. Let's just say that schadenfreud has finally caught up with Mr. Rodriguez, and not being smart is the least of his problems.

4. A-Rod didn't need PEDs.
He needs a sports psychologist. He is one of the last people I want up to bat in a clutch situation in any games after the regular season. Scott Brosius, Paul O'Neill, and Aaron Boone were better than he is.

6. No, you are suppossed to not give a shit because you are about to lose your job
Forgive him? For what? Did he murder Nichole Simpson? I thought he just secured a multi million dollar contract that many would kill twice over for, all while entertaining people. Big, fucking, deal.

7. The idiotic part
is that these athletes are being required to apologize at all. Steroids and other drugs have been an integral part of the regimen of most athletes for decades. And they aren't going to go away, no matter what "rules" are put in place. Sports were never intended to be a full-time activity, and the wear-and-tear on the body is extreme. If doctors were simply allowed to prescribe these drugs for athletes, monitoring their health and keeping them away from dangerous black market products, there would be no "steroid problem." But as usual, American hypocrisy insists that athletes be superhuman, and exemplars of "natural" achievement, whatever that is. Humans stopped being in any sense "natural" the day we had our first thought. Is it "natural" to spend one's life training to become brilliant at a pointless and meaningless activity? Is it "natural" for a society to invest more time, money and attention in that activity than it does in anything useful? Of course not. But because athletes cross over some arbitrary line defined by politicians and the media, they are to be ostracized?

I don't get it.

8. I almost care about this very important issue.
Take a look at professional football, basketball, and baseball players of today. Compare them to players from 30 years ago. Any questions?

12. I only care about this because a high-school classmate of mine killed himself with steroids trying
to "make it." Assholes like the aforementioned A-Rod helped facilitate that. It's a damned shame.
