Nova M Radio to become a different company? Plus more info.
From http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRWebSite/Format_RoomPage.aspx?FormatID=11 ">Radio and Records, an industry website:

Nova M Becomes On Second Thought
Rhodes Departs
By Mike Stern

The finger pointing between host Randi Rhodes and her network Nova M is over, and so is Nova M. Network general manager Eric Reinert tells R&R that Nova M is no longer an entity and that a new company called On Second Thought LLC has been formed and is moving forward. Reinart also confirms that Rhodes is no longer associated with the group.

The new network will continue to offer host Mike Malloy along with new shows from hosts Nancy Skinner, who has been filling in for Randi Rhodes during the recent contract dispute, and Mike Newcomb, a popular local host in the Phoenix area.

Reinart declined to comment on a lawsuit recently filed by former network CEO John Manzo. The 16-page complaint alleges, among other things, that the syndicator breached Manzo's contract, failed to pay state and federal taxes on his behalf, defamed his character and cast him in a false light.

Another topic Reinart declined to discuss was the recent hospitalization of Nova M co-founder Sheldon Drobny. Sources tell R&R Drobny is doing well and will be fine.

1. Hmmm, interesting!
I wonder if the 'demise' of Nova M and the birth of On Second Thought was the only way to cut the ties to Randi Rhodes? Name ownership issues? Only way to resolve the previously reported contract dispute?

I am glad the former Nova M, current On Second Thought will continue and the fracas has been resolved.

2. interesting convergence....
both nancy and mike worked at (now right wing) wls 890 am chicago. mike was canned because he was "to dark". nancy, along with ski anderson had a sunday afternoon show and was canceled when she ran for the senate in illinois. i really enjoyed their program because she always let the brain-stems enough time to hang themselves. i can`t remember her ever getting really pissed off at anyone. i think she`ll do a great job

3. Interesting ... Knowing how far back Randi and "Mr. Manzo" go ...
maybe she wanted to defend him on-air and was kept from
doing that by Nova M ...

I predict she'll land at Dial Global (quickly becoming
the major player in progressive talk) ... I thought I
heard a little "tell" from Jim and Chris when Stephanie
Miller mentioned Randi in the same context as Thom
Hartmann (going to Dial Global as of 3/1) and Ed Schultz,
who's currently with Dial. In this economic climate, I
can certainly understand Randi wanting to be with a
stable company and it sounds like Nova M/On Second Thought
is on thin ice ...

4. Yes, John Manzo helped Rhodes build her career. It was dumb to fire him, IMO. Is Dial
Global available to stream on computer?
