How many associated with the Clinton Administration took the 5th when

ordered to testify before Congress?

I know that over a thousand were subpoenaed, and executive privilege was claimed in many, many cases, most of which (if not all), were decided in favor of the various investigative bodies.

How will those in the M$M, including Matthews, Norah ODonnell, the guy from Time, Gloria Borger, and the guy from the NYT (appearing Sunday on CM's wretched gasfest) who declared this entire deal just a means for the dems to get back at the pugs after 12 years of pug congressional control deal with this story?

These cretinous lapdogs crawled all OVER themselves, declaring that there was NO story there, that the American people were completely uninterested in this nonstory, and that the dems had better be DAMN certain they didn't overreach their grasp in investigating everything under the republican sun.

this is going to be GOOD!

how many more will plead?

give ALL the underlings immunity, and FORCE them to testify, or treat them exactly the same as they treated Susan MacDougal.

Here's the thread about the DOJ official

3. why thank you....got tired of the often-used gasbag/gasbaggers, etc.
yesterday's show, especially after seeing this reliance on the fifth (over what?), will resonate as a shining example of just HOW far the fourth estate has sunk into the hip pocket of the criminally insane neokrytos who've stolen what's left of our democracy.

I can't WAIT to see what congress will do with the wave of unwilling witnesses that will soon be appearing

this is going to be better than Watergate....of course, it remains for the media to give it the coverage it deserves. I don't see how they can ignore this, but they've ignored EVERYTHING the BFEE has done since before Iran/Contra, so I can't help but be less than sanguine at this point. Always remember that it took a sex scandal in congress to tilt the playing field toward the dems last fall. According to the polls at the time, the pugs were GAINING ground fast, and had not Foley appeared, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the pugs had kept their hold on at least the Senate......the House, too.

first harbinger of things to come?

this pleading the fifth could very well open the floodgates that would make Johnstown look like the parting of the Red Sea.

it'll all be up to the media, unless the Achordate Party makes this impossible to ignore.

one can only hope.

and how about that Parry vs. Hersh thread? how insane was that?

"Hersh wrote lies about Kennedy because he must've been MAD at them!"???????

when has ANYthing he's reported ever been shown to be incorrect, including his groundbreaking work on the Reagan October Surprise, which has largely been explicitly verified (but ignored) in revelations by both Israeli and Soviet intel files.

sending some hard earned cash to that notorious ''opinion blogger'' today!

Funny how they can't REFUTE what is said, just take potshots at Parry and anyone who posts his work.

18. yep...sounds almost exactly like the myraid Chavez threads, with
the anti-progressives spouting their bile, yet never providing plausible reasons for their loathing.

and to be going after Parry is, well, how does one describe that?

I'd be more than happy to have seen ONE example of his opinion blogging (along with refutation of said basis for opinions expressed), but, of course, that didn't happen

and was it you that they were accusing of being Mrs. Parry? I'd have said YEAH, and he's the best husband one could possibly desire!

that was an amazingly underhanded tactic.....

19. heheh....yeah... I wonder if Parry ever reads DU...
Maybe he'll check out my picture in the Gallery.

I think my husband will let me put Parry on the list of "If I ever get the chance" especially since I let him have Salma Hayek and Monica Bellucci. Ooops.... I have Salma on my list, too. ;)))))

repuke apologists. The Clinton people did it too!

9. exactly. and when they pull out that hoary chestnut, NOBODY ever
challenges them with the obvious response: what does that have to do with the case at hand?

they should be admonished to deal with the exigencies of the situation in question, rather than be allowed to deflect, which is what they do so skillfully.

I get so sick of this sort of derailment

at least Jeffrey was honest for a change.

Do they really want to make that association?

21. They attack Clinton for things that were NEVER wrong and won't speak a word about
the major thing he DID do wrong - he protected secrecy and privilege when he chose to let Poppy Bush off the hook for all his crimes of office.

17. What I do remember is the two women who took the fifth regarding
contributions and pardons after the Clinton Administration was over. I don't remember their names, but I think one was formally married to a member of Marc Rich's family. I also remember that wretched son of a bitch Imus calling them pigs.
I for one, don't find a thing wrong with this woman taking the fifth. She is exercising her Constitutional right. I think Congress can give her immunity, and then they can compell her to testify.

20. I hope she sings like a birdy, too!
if she doesn't she can ROT in prison for at least the two years MacDougal spent

btw, agreed that she has every constitutional right afforded her.

I wonder how much longer before the fifth goes the way of the fourth, most of the first, the sixth, the ninth, the tenth......
