John McCain "Rejected" Invite Back On "The View"
Edited on Tue Feb-17-09 06:35 PM by Are_grits_groceries
John McCain's appearance on "The View" in September was an instant classic, but chances are he won't be coming back to the ladies' couch anytime soon.

Barbara Walters told a crowd gathered at a breakfast sponsored by Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications Tuesday morning that the Republican presidential nominee rebuffed her invitation back on the program, according to a writeup of the event by Portfolio.com's Jeff Bercovici.

Bercovici transcribes Walters' comments:

I had an experience at a dinner in Washington, two weeks ago, the Alfalfa Club dinner. Senator McCain was there. He had been on The View and was not very happy. And when we walked out and I saw him I said, "Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again." And he looked at me and said, "Not anytime soon."

Poor baby. Joy just asked him why he was lying in his campaign ads.

1. Whatta dumbass
Going back on the View would make a) make him look magnanimous and b) give him a forum to air his problems with Obama's policies. But he'd rather pout. Whatever. :eyes:

5. He has shown himself to be a big sore loser
I think the media should ignore his rude comments on how Obama is not doing very well as president. He needs to retreat to the corner of a room and get over his loss. We shouldn't have to put up with his sour puss routine any longer.

8. I actually agree with this decision
I wouldn't have gone on that show in the first place.

11. I don't think it is a good show
Sherry Shepard isn't what I would call a liberal. Barbara Walters is annoying. Whoopi, who I like, isn't good at controlling the flow of the conversion and everyone ends talking over each other. It's painful to watch which is why I've only seen a few episode since Rosie left. It would probably be even more painful to experience in person.
