Really beautiful island. We had a blast there and get to go back this year - probably to Ios and Santorini. Will take more tranquil photos for everyone.

7. Wow! Hard to pick a favorite, as the saying goes

but I keep going back to look at Long, Still Shadows on Snow. It captures the theme perfectly, and goes deeper, somehow. The simple beauty of the scene is deceptive - it takes a very sharp eye, and maybe some luck, to capture this sort of image. Don't know if this is film or digital and whether it was originally shot in color. In any case, the tonal range is excellent, and the darkest elements have a velvety quality. It's extraordinary.

Kudos to all the entrants, though. Wonderful theme, and a wonderful batch of photos.
