Why hasn't the news of Eric Cantor's wife benefiting from the bank bailout
Been front page here and in the MSM instead of being BURIED on the pages of a small Virginia newspaper? What the hell is going on here, and WHY HASN'T our side jammed this down this douche bag's throat????? And only now Keith is discussing this?????

Employer of Cantor’s wife benefited from bailout

A bank that employs the wife of Rep. Eric I. Cantor, R-Va., benefited from the $700 billion Wall Street bailout that Cantor helped steer through Congress last fall.

Diana F. Cantor runs a Virginia-based subsidiary of New York Private Bank and Trust. The New York bank received $267.2 million from the U.S. Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Program Jan. 9.

A spokesman for New York Private Bank and Trust told ProPublica, an investigative journalism Web site that first reported the relationship, Diana Cantor was “never aware that the parent bank was seeking or received funding.” A spokesman for the New York bank declined to comment for this report.

Diana Cantor, the managing director of the subsidiary, Virginia Private Bank and Trust, did not return a phone call seeking comment Monday. She also serves on Media General’s board of directors.

Through a spokesman, Eric Cantor declined to comment. Rob Collins, the congressman’s deputy chief of staff, called the government investment in the parent company of his wife’s bank “a freak coincidence” and said the congressman did nothing to facilitate it.

Cantor first learned the bank received the money when his wife emailed him a Jan. 16 article in American Banker, Collins said.

“It’s not like she’s lobbying for the industry,” Collins said. “She has no clue what’s going on up in New York.”

Hundreds of banks, financial institutions and auto companies have received funding from the Treasury program.

The $267.2 million given to New York Private Bank and Trust is almost nine times the median amount received by companies participating in the program, a Media General News Service analysis of Treasury records found.

In the American Banker article, New York Private Bank and Trust chairman and CEO Howard P. Milstein said he changed the bank’s tax structure to make it eligible for the bailout.

10. Yes, Dems are still spineless, short sighted and self serving.
They should take their lessons from Dennis K., Peter DeFazio and Bernie Sanders.

11. Do you remember Eric
being front and center with hank during the bank bail out ? I do. He was behind Hank for the whole what ten days smiling, smiling and smiling so more. I remember thinking I didn't like him because he was too happy about the bail out and it was a terrible event, that it had come to that need of so much money but he was so happy. I will find vedio coverage if you don't believe

17. K&R. They don't want the public
to know? Seems pretty straight forward to me. If it was a Democrat it would be headlines and repeated every 20 minutes on CNN. Again, the problem is the media. This is our greatest challenge.

19. Cantor Makes "Good Teevee"
The corporates love someone who can stir the pot...piss people off...especially if its a repugnican. In recent years they've lost a lot of their favorite firebreathers as the GOOP lost elections and real power, thus Cantor has filled a void...he wants to be the next Gingrich...the "future" of the party. And he's got a lot of others riding on his coat tails...with a bench so thin, they can't afford to see him fail.

C'mon...when has hypocrisy or conflict of interest ever disqualified a repugnican. Hell...it's expected.
