Here's a crazy idea: Erase all the global debt

I have a (probably) insane, but workable solution to the global financial crisis. Here it is:

We have a coordinated global erasure of debt. Every nation in the world simply writes the debt off its books, and forgets the debt ever existed. Every bank account in the world, if the balance is less than 0, then erase the account. If the account is over 0, then continue as normal. This may sound crazy, and it is, but it would probably work. In conjunction with this, institute a global price freeze on all products, so that new found inflation does not run rampant. Give the system a year to correct from this, and combined with new regulations, our troubles are over.


Okay, shoot this idea down. It probably sucks.
