1. I'm practically surprised when I hear anything positive about the stimulus
It's been totally out of control.

4. Tell me there is not a vast right wing
conspiracy. The network news programs stepped up their attacks on Obama as soon as he was sworn in. There does not seem to be any answer other than to reenact the fairness doctrine. I hear "We need to break up the media monopolies." Well, I don't see anyone breaking them up. In the meantime Obama is being destroyed in the media.

5. I have a new theory about how media is conservative
I think that the nature of media is to report on how things go wrong compared to how things work correctly. News is when things are counter-intuitive, not reporting on things that operate the way they are supposed to. What would the story angle be on the goverment's programs that work well? How does that spur righteous indignation that compels people to pick up newspapers? That's why all of the coverage is about the minor portion of the stimulus that is "pork" or "wasteful", compared to the other 750B that is obvious stimulus. Since the essence of conservatism is to harp on how goverment doesn't function well, it goes hand in hand with the media's reporting outlook.
