That is what I am thinking.

It is like we are on the verge of something so BIG being exposed that even the blind will have to see.

The real question will be will the WH hunker down and bolt the doors and refuse to go??

Or will they all escape to Paraguay can they??

WHat are our extradition policies with that country

You can feel it. The media can't bail them out now. What is their next move. Kinda scary IMO. On the other hand it is kinda fun. They are less apt to resort to a major distraction now that they are being watched sooooo closely.

In June, Josh Marshall Talking Points

A few points before signing off, though. You may have noticed a slight down-tick in the frequency of posts of late. And that’s for a few different reasons. But a principal one is that I and several colleagues have been working on a story that, if and when it comes to fruition — and I’m confident it shall — should shuffle the tectonic plates under that capital city where I normally hang my hat. So that’s something to look forward to in the not too distant future. And that’s taken some of my time away from TPM and prevented me from sharing with you some delectable tidbits which otherwise I would have loved to have done.

I’ve spent so much time over the last several months reporting on a project that has to do with classified materials that I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t know just what the rules are for taking notes of such classified documents in secure reading rooms.

a extradition treaty with the ICC/Hague. And the right wing gov. is oh-so weak. I don't hink it will be a friendly haven for them in the coming years.

12. RevMoon owns over a million acres at Paraguay boder - Bushies will be safe.
Plus - Bush ordered a small base be put up near there, so we actually are paying military to protect that area.

I'd personally love to see Bush on the run to Paraguay. That would be the complete repudiation of Bush and the Republican Party in my lifetime.

14. No, the real question actually is
will the Dems have the guts to pursue it and bring it on home? They haven't up til now.

They've let everything go unprosecuted since at least the Reagan administration, and there's not real indication they're any more courageous now. Their denial and unintended complicity is what allowed the Beast (BFEE) to grow as big and powerful as it has, not to mention all those lessons learned about how to get away with stuff.

23. funny you should say that
watching All the President's Men for the first time, it was really chilling, there was
deep throat explaining that the Republican Party was all mixed up with the CIA and the
FBI, and everybody at the time was warm and fuzzy over 2 reporters from the Post who
uncovered this, how naive were we to think the problem was solved.

25. Oh. wow. So right.
They just went underground...for a while. And continued building their strength, and networks, and so forth.

You're exactly right: how naive were we to think the problem was solved.

We just didn't know the extent of the problem. SOME of us now do (or think we do -- who knows how big this Octapus really is?), but knowing and being able to defeat it are two separate things.

Edited on Mon Mar-26-07 07:48 PM by WinkyDink
"The CIA and military intelligence is also sending missions into Paraguay and Uruguay to combat what it believes are active al-Qaeda cells. Some of these are concentrated, say officials, at the point where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet near the Foz do Iguaçu waterfall."
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,615842,00.html

"The Bush administration has an additional interest in Paraguay through its war on terrorism. The so-called triple border, where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay meet along both sides of the Parana River, is the storied locus for smuggling, money laundering, commerce in child prostitutes, counterfeit operations, and fixing of illegal border crossings. Some 20,000 Middle Eastern, Muslim expatriates, most of them Lebanese in origin, live in Ciudad del Este on the Paraguayan side of the river and Foz do Iguacu in Brazil. The cities supposedly are centers for Islamic extremism and sources of funding for terrorist groups. Al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah operatives reportedly have passed through the area, and training camps, sleeper cells, and passport factories are said to be located there. After September 11, 40 FBI agents joined Paraguayan colleagues to investigate some of these networks. Dozens of suspects were arrested. US military authorities advertise their operatives moving into Paraguay as experts in counterterrorism."
Not to mention natural resources, including WATER.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article11409.htm

Maybe the CIA and BinLaden will work together to terrorize South America, forcing the U.S. to send in troops (aka, using the ones already stationed there*) to liberate the Venezuelans of Chavez!

* "Servicio Paz y Justicia (SERPAJ) Paraguay condemned an agreement approved by the Paraguayan Congress which will allow US troops into the country for an 18-month training and advisory mission from June 1, 2005 through December 31, 2006. The agreement grants full immunity from prosecution to all US personnel involved in the mission."
