Tin foil on top of tin foil: Are dc dems actually playing this brilliantly?
I normally have my tinfoil on 24/7, finding dem behavior over last 6 years to be frustrating, mysterious, and questionable. I have bristled at weak statements, apologies, splintered votes, hearings without action, triangulation, lack of outrage, compromise, backing off of confrontation, avoidance of election reform, letting media spew propaganda, poor framing of issues, etc.. No need to document all the frustrations here, as these things are well known to most DUrs. On the surface, dem performance does not lead to confidence that big changes are headed our way. It just doesn't.

However, for a short time today or until the feeling goes away, I'm going to entertain a new theory involving deep strategic planning by dems (this requires double layer of tinfoil). Have the dems actually been choreographing response to scandal and misdeed in a way that allows us to address them all at once? Are we about to see someone stand up and point to all that's gone on, from DSM to missing billions to Katrina to Walter Reed to white phosporous to Abu Ghraib to USA firings to Sibel and Plame to "money trumps peace" to Abramoff to Enron to global warming to secret energy meeting to Medicare lies and more? More is coming to light and even though there is precious little ACTION now, one could interpret the dems as getting all the balls in play and keeping them juggled until the right time. Is the right time soon? Really soon?

Because if someone did this, the call for impeachment would not have to come from a congressman....it would come from people, freepers and progressive's alike, because the case for impeachment is not subtle, a close call, or questionable. It is strong, irresistable, undeniable, obivous, and necessary. People are numbed to the weekly bickering and outrage. They must be shown the entire big picture of administration disaster, corruption, incompetence, and corporatism and the veil will be lifted.

This theory must be correct...otherwise how to explain the virtual complicity?

1. I forget who said this on MSGOP today, but he said,
What? You suggest that the Democrats can lose a winning hand?

7. Eugene Robinson had a BIG laugh over that with the one or two other
gasbags. it was either on Tweety or Bowtie

they were cheerfully pushing the meme that the dems had BETTER WATCH OUT, that they'd better not OVERPLAY their hand

as always, the ones INVESTIGATING serious wrongdoing had better STOP doing it!

never about those who have clearly committed real CRIMES having to watch out for the rule of law to come down on them like a thousand pound shit hammer

funny how it always works to the benefit of the pugs, isn't it?

their in the gunsight of the law, but it's the dems who'd better be careful, as the gun they're pointing may blow up in their scheming little faces.

2. I have always maintained...
That this maladministration would ultimately commit suicide by a thousand cuts.

Thank you, boys and girls, for making me look good.

3. I hope you are right
because if you are not, then there is no hope for anything getting better anytime soon--and how much time do we have left as a planet?

4. I was half-way there in that thinking too.
I think the Dems want the public to call for impeachment - after they had done the digging. There has to be support from the country to get the votes they need.

5. Amazing what 2 months in control of Congress can accomplish.
We've had more leaks in the SS Bushtanic in 60 days than the previous approx. 2200 days combined.

9. so true, so painful, but so true.
even if we lose a brazilian number of troops in IraqNam, some of our dems would find a way to screw it up.
