Just like we're probably better off not ridiculing our Repug coworkers in public...if we have them. It's just the way things are.
Don't expect Keith to treat his fellow MSNBC'ers with the same critical eye he does others, or to nominate them for WPITW, or you will be waiting forever. And please don't accuse him of being hypocritical. He's no more hypocritical than if you tell a coworker what your neighbor the dumb Repug said to you over the fence last weekend, but refrain from ridiculing the Repug in the next cubicle.
And please don't act like this is somehow something he should take a principled stand on, even if it gets him fired. Keith took a lot of "principled" stands like that earlier in his career...and got in deep trouble for it. (He even got in temporary hot water this time around for having called Rita Cosby "dumber than a suitcase full of rocks" in an email.) Now he's 50 years old and he's finally learned to pick his battles in the workplace, and that some are really not worth fighting? Good for him! I'd rather see him indirectly criticize Morning Joke and his ilk by critcizing others who say the same things they do than get fired for not being enough of a "team player."
