Heads Up West Coast: NBC Nightly News
An exclusive interview with Gonzales. Defends WH involvement. As far as HE is concerned, he had NO political reasons for the firings, but if he finds out any of his staff was doing things for political reasons, they will be fired. His participation in the meeting unveiled by the email, was just participation, he was just present, he took no part in any decisions. He played the "poor latino, hard upbringing card"....attacks on his cridibility are hurting him. Transcript of whole interview up on NBC website.

2. Gonzo and Bonzo both need to go
"if he finds out any of his staff was doing this for political reasons, they will be fired"

Isn't that the gist of what Bush said he would do to his own staff over the Valerie Plame outing?

7. So let me get this straight Mr. Gonzales...
...you are the Attorney General of the United States of America. You participated in a meeting where an unprecedented action was being discussed (firing several USAs midterm for political reasons -- and taking advantage of a Patriot Act provision to replace them without the inconvenience of Senate confirmation). But you were "just present", and "took no part in any decisions".

Say... what's your job again? Did you offer guidance? Nod? Speak out loud at all? Or did you just sit there like a fencepost turtle, waving your hands futilely, trying to get attention from someone?

Geez, these people are really pathetic.

I so want to see that baby faced smirk wiped off -- hopefully when he realizes that this is only the first of many, many karmic comeuppances lined up for Mr. Gonzales.

Well a person can dream, can't they?

9. Give Speedy a break, people...
after all, Dubya is the decider. If Speedy had decided anything, it would have been insubordination.
