This same thinking allowed a fake Texan to steal the WH and bog the country down in an unnecessary war...

Curt Schilling...steroids?, I didn't see any steroids? What steroids?....

2. No, some screwballs in Massachusetts
think that the voters are dumb enough to embrace a candidate who doesn't represent their interests just because he's one of the most famous Boston sports figures of the last 25 years. They also think they can just tell him what to do once he gets to the Senate.

9. It didn't work with Steve Largent in Oklahoma
and it didn't work with Lynn Swann in Pennsylvania.

It did work with Bill Bradley in Delaware.
But he was a Democrat. And a smart one, too.

4. He'll do about as well as Lynn Swann
Neither Roger Staubach nor Nolan Ryan even took the GOP upon its offer for them to run for statewide office in Texas.

Sports and politics do not mix.

6. As nutcase religious as Schilling is,
I would hope that the allure of a baseball-playing senator would fade fairly quickly when they heard his more extreme views. I have a hard time believing that a state that is liberal enough to elect (and re-elect repeatedly) Ted Kennedy would also elect Schilling.

It does not reflect the opinion of MA voters.

Only WAAF listeners ( who are the dumbest fucks to walk the earth - but that's another story - BCN isn't any better )

to run in the Senate race against Obama. He was smart enough to say No Thanks. It was funny.

16. I've always hated "Crybaby Curt"
Philadelphia was glad to be rid of him, he caused nothing but trouble in Arizona (always infighting with Randy Johnson), and now all he does is lick up to the Bushes.

F*ck him and the horse he rode in on.

22. fortunately
Massachusetts is a bit smarter then the average fundyville. People here love sports for sure.... but we also realize that being athletic does not make one a good legislator.

It worries me not one bit that some Mitt and Muffy fan club dorks think this a peachy idea.
