Has The Corporate Whore Media Received Their Goodling Talking Points Yet?
I figure that the SPINSTERS at the WH have spent the afternoon trying to come up with reasons why it is just fine and dandy that Goodling is taking the 5th, and how that in no way should indicate a suspicion of guilt.

I realize that the only newscaster capable of reporting this story accurately and honestly is Keith Olbermann, but I'm wondering if the other "news" shows are attempting to minimize the significance of her refusing to testify, and I expect by tomorrow they'll be in a full blown defensive posture, with all the media SUCK UPS explaining to us how noble she is and how much pressure this poor, attacked woman is being unfairly subpoenaed by the big, bad Democratic congress.

1. yep....I started a thread on Katie Couric saying....
that her testimony wouldn't be useful to the investigation, or something like that

her lawyer is putting out the meme that she can't get a fair hearing, so she won't testify at all!

those are the two I've heard so far

2. KO needs to get her Regent U. law degree info
and how she could redeem herself, rather than besmirch the Lord, by taking the 5th. Jesus would be balls-out telling the truth but NOT THIS BUSHCO OUTFIT. How fitting that she'll probably have an ACLU attorney.

5. here
March 26 (Bloomberg) -- An aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will invoke her constitutional right to refuse to testify before a Senate panel investigating the firings of eight U.S. attorneys, her lawyer told the committee.

Monica Goodling, who helped coordinate the dismissals as the attorney general's White House liaison, will invoke her Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, her lawyer said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee. She will refuse to be interviewed by committee lawyers and decline an invitation to testify at a public hearing, said attorney John M. Dowd, citing the ``legally perilous'' environment of congressional probes.

6. Is Monica a Federalist Society member ? Is the REX84 agenda back ?
The exec orders letting Reagan and Ollie invoke martial law at the stroke of a pen were approved while Alito and Roberts were in DOJ and WH-Counsel giving the rubber stamp.

John Dowd

http://pview.findlaw.com/view/2063863_1?&channel=CCC

With his S&L investigation knowledge, he must have come across the 'Octopus' that Casolaro and Webb bumped into. Protecting the links to Cunningham et al

The question becomes:

"" Did U.S. intelligence agencies assist in funneling rivers of cash from suspect defense contractors into the campaign coffers of pro-war Republican lawmakers? Was U.S. taxpayer money secretly used to subvert American democracy? ""

Cunningham, Abramoff investigations lead here; was Gonzalez trying to keep this kind of investigation, an obstruction of justice, from carrying on under the current Congress' investigative powers ? Kinda like 'head 'em off at the pass' ?

3. She is taking the fifth because innocent people keep going to jail for lying
and the innocent people aren't really lying they just get messed up when testifying.

But the Dems are evil people.

And that's their story and they are sticking with it.

8. This Lady Has Nothing To Worry About If She Tells The Truth.....
that should be the Dem response to her taking the 5th.

Much like they tell us don't worry about the Patriot Act - if you are doing nothing to invoke it.

Can't have it both ways - Repugs.

If she was subpoenaed by the Committee - could she still take the 5th? or would she be compelled to testify?

Maybe the committee should consider giving her immunity. Cut a deal with her.

9. taking the fifth means she has a LOT to worry about if she tells the truth.
pleading the fifth means not having to participate in criminal prosecution against onesself, not giving evidence against onesself

10. A couple of things about this Goodling Chick...
1) Read the whole PDF on her statement about why she is not going to testify. It is very interesting reading. Basically she says that everyone has made up their minds about the USA's situation and she doesn't want to answer questions from people who are going to gang up on her.

Go here and download the entire letter.

http://www.tpmmuckraker.com/archives/002798.php

Secondly she is a graduate of Regent University. There basic reason for being is to inject Christers inot government at lower levels ,like Goodling is positioned in so that the Christers can infiltrate the government ad get their agneda enmeshed into public policy.

You can go here for the low down:
