I found that it's impossibly hard to hate Ted Haggard or to get any satisfaction after seeing him and his family struggle so hard while they were banished. What he did to the gay community though is still inexcusable and without pardon and his punishment has been quite in keeping with the crime since it gives him a serious taste of the suffering he's been causing others. At some point he must have thought about that.

Alexandra Pelosi, to give her credit stayed away from portraying the family members very much. They were literally exiled from the state and had to leave their home empty while they were gone without knowing when and if they would be allowd back. I couldn't help feeling sorry for him even though I kept thinking that if he would just come clean and outed himself to the LBGT community with an apology that he would have been received with more compassion that his Church leaders ever showed. But maybe he just couldn't find it in himself to out himself to his wife and children.
