He was going to come back from Afghanistan, disallusioned with the lies of this war, and be a HUGE boost to the Kerry campaign. Imagine a handsome, well-spoken, famous, football/war hero on the stage with Kerry. That would have been an enormous boost to the Kerry/Edwards campaign, and the fascists had to make sure Tillman never got that chance.
