some cater to high salary white collar, some simply list stuff one would typically find in a local newspaper.

i've put each of these to a hypothetical test (keyword "carpenter" zip code "34232")... and got varying results:

1. Most of them are pay to play - they don't actively seek out listings.

In other words, people have to think about posting to these sites - and then pay the associated fees, if any - in order to have the job listed. To that end, you will always have varying results. In my experience, trade specific publications tend to be the best sources.
