to a bunch of ignorant, reichwing talking point puppets.
seriously, I just got off the phone with the "news" director at one of the local stations, to register my complaint about the coverage here the day President Obama signed the stimulus package. the reichwing protestors were given plenty of air time to repeat all their little rash/insanity/loofah boy talking points (including one fool who went on and on about ACORN). I had waited for ONE reporter to ask, "where's the pork?" "have you actually READ the bill?" "WHERE is ACORN getting any money?" but, alas, not one of the local gasbags did (not to mention that one of them referred to the ELEVEN THOUSAND pages of the bill)
the last of the three directors with whom I spoke informed me that the protestors had a great deal of credibility, since the head of the state gop was with them. best laugh I have had all day.
seriously, I am beginning to understand how people without access to cable or the internet can be so ill-informed, if the stations here are any indication of local coverage in other areas.
any brilliant ideas on how, in this reddest of counties, we could actually get some decent coverage? if it weren't for the local alternative paper, there wouldn't be any decent print coverage either.
