No I don't want a liar up there just someone a bit more informed and if he is asked something he does not know and says he will find out then find out and bring the press the answer next press conference at the opening. Not that I agree all of the press clubs questions deserve an answer but if it does then take note and be proactive and bring the answer next time. Then I would say we had a press sec on the ball.

He is the press secretary of the President. He is not responsible for answering questions about Nanjcy Pelosi who is part of the legislative branch. Gibbs has a really hard job. He has to speak for the person he represents and deal with questions from journalists who can be pretty agressive.

I totally agree with you. Probably a loyal, really nice guy but he seems quite inept as a spokesperson to me. It seems like the same old same old. Evasion. During the campaign, I thought he was incapable of sharp comebacks
and debate of ideas. Despite this, O got elected.

On the other hand, the way the news pounces, who wouldn't be scared to be candid? Knowing,
the slightest little slip could become a huge deal. Really, when you think about it - with the way the media is, might
as well just cancel all press briefings. They are a total waste of time.
