Ted is working so hard for us. And so with his birthday coming up this Sunday, February 22, I am counting on you to help me do something extra special for him.
Please sign our special birthday card to Ted. When you return your signed card, I will give it to Ted when our family celebrates his 77th birthday:
http://www.democraticmajority.com/birthdayFebruary 22 is also George Washington's birthday. Because they share a birthday, Ted has a special interest in George Washington. That's why our card has a special George Washington theme.
One of Ted's favorite quotes from our nation's first president comes from a letter that Washington wrote to Congress in January 1778 during the American Continental Army's long, cold winter at Valley Forge.
He wrote:
"I have no other view than to promote the public good, and am unambitious of honors not founded in the approbation of my Country."
I know that Ted carries these words in his heart each time that he sets foot on the floor of the United States Senate.
Ted has dedicated a lifetime of public service to the cause of health care for all.
He believes that every American has the right to decent, quality, affordable health care, and fighting for that right is the cause of his life.
Messages of support from friends like you -- combined with the spirit of hope and possibility in Washington -- energize and inspire him.
Please sign our birthday card now:
http://www.democraticmajority.com/birthdayI am so grateful for the commitment you have shown Ted over the years. He is proud to have your support, and I know he will be delighted to hear from you on his birthday.
Sincerely,
Victoria Reggie Kennedy
PS: With eight new Democratic colleagues in the Senate and President Obama in the White House, Ted's never been closer to making health care available to all Americans. Please help him reach this goal by making a donation of $10, $25, $50 -- or a special birthday contribution of $77 -- to the Committee for a Democratic Majority:
