He makes Good Ole Boys look good! Sanford is a "drown government in the bathtub" extremist nut-job. It's part of the reason he doesn't get along well with the Good Ole Boys in the state legislature. The state of South Carolina has the third (#3) highest unemployment rate in the country. South Carolina has a zero balance in its unemployment benefits account, and (according to the NPR story and the Greenville News) will have to borrow cash from the US Treasury to cover February checks.

Meanwhile, Goobernor Sanford, Senator Lindsey "Pretty-boy" Graham, and Senator Jim-Bob DimWitt are loudly singing yet another chorus of that GOP hit tune "We Don't Want 'Yer Stinkin' Stimulus." They pander, they pimp, they whore around; and their right-wing, atavistic base loves it.
