Gonzales Says He May ‘Find Out’ That Attorneys Were Purged For Political Reasons
In an interview tonight, NBC News’ Pete Williams asked Attorney General Alberto Gonzales a simple question: “Can you be certain that none of these U.S. Attorneys were put on that list for improper reasons?”

Gonzales wouldn’t give a straight answer, and in fact left open the possibility that attorneys were fired for partisan politics. “If I find out that, in fact, any of these decisions were motivated, the recommendations to me were motivated for improper reasons to interfere with the public corruption case, there will be swift and — there will be swift and decisive action. I can assure you that.”

Gonzales also suggested that other evidence of his personal involvement in the firings may come to light. “here may have been other conversations about specifically about the performance of US attorneys” that I don’t remember, he said.

Watch it here.......

5. If I was on the investigating committee the first question
I would ask is "Who is in charge over at the Justice Department?" I thought that it has been all over the place that bush was supposed to be the one who appointed and fired attorneys. Now we don't know who...fired the attorneys. This is ridiculous.

"No one could possibly have foreseen that terrorists would use airplanes as missiles ..."

"No one could possibly have foreseen that the insurgency in Iraq would be as strong as it turned out to be ..."

"No one could possibly have foreseen that my underlings would fire US attorneys for political reasons ..."

With all of the money being spent by this administration in Iraq, you'd think they would have put aside a couple of bucks for a new scriptwriter ...

15. He's ALWAYS been saying he was out
of the loop. Sheesh! With 110,000 employees he has to delegate stuff--like high-level decisions. He just signs the papers when they tell him to--doesn't have to bother reading them, you know--there are other things he needs to attend to--like keeping our children safe.

14. Well, Yanno.. Rumsfeld said it best and most succinctly......
"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we know."

Let's just say his face is frozen in a constant smirk.

23. Even if this isn't the most corrupt administration
this country has ever had (and I do believe it is), it has GOT to be the most incompetent. I have never seen anything like this bunch of boobs (with all due respect to boobs). Michael Brown, Chertoff, Rumsfeld, John Bolton, Condoleeza Rice (really-what has she done diplomatically? Or about the terror threats in the summer of 2001? Jesus H. Christ! She sucked at TWO jobs!), not to mention criminals like Elliot Abrams and John Poindexter.

And the biggest incompetent is the *ahem* Commander-in-Chief, George himself.

These people are the worst I can remember. They "delegate" everything-and then they are soooo surprised at what their underlings do. They are NEVER in the loop, they don't hear about problems until they read it in the newspaper, they can't be bothered to cut short a vacation, they lie, they smear.

They suck.
